How To Book Your Road Test Online

You can book your road test online in two places. Either through the AlbertaDrivingExaminer.ca website or AMA.

NOTICE: SPRING 2023 ROAD TEST CHANGES

Starting in spring 2023, Alberta will eliminate the advanced road test for Class 5 and Class 6 driver’s licences. Albertans who successfully complete a 24-month probationary period and are suspension and contravention-free for the last 12 months of their probationary period will automatically qualify for their full Class 5 or Class 6 driver’s licence. Drivers may also be allowed to reduce their probationary period by up to 6 months if they complete an approved driver-training course.
 
Also in spring 2023, Alberta will remove the road test requirement for obtaining a Class 4 driver’s licence, which is currently mandatory for drivers transporting passengers in taxis, ride share vehicles, limousines, small buses and ambulances. A knowledge test, driver medical, and vision test will still be required to obtain a Class 4 licence.
